Bemidji High School senior boys golfer Nick Yavarow will be appearing at the Class AAA state championships for the first time after he shared medalist honors with three others at last week’s Section 8AAA championships at Rich Spring Golf Club.
Yavarow followed an opening round of 77 with a blistering 3-under 69 to finish level at the top with a total of 146. His finish means qualification for the Class AAA championship June 13-14 at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids.
Both Yavarow and Bemidji boys golf head coach Seth Knutson joined High Noon on Monday to recap the section performance and preview next week’s state meet.
