Bemidji High School senior basketball player Matt Matheney officially signed on to play college basketball for the University of Jamestown in a ceremony Thursday at the high school.

The signing came after Matheney played a rotation role in helping the Lumberjacks finish 15-13 overall while reaching the semifinals of the Section 8AAAA playoffs. His role as a stretch power forward is one Matheney anticipates will be replicated next season with the Jimmies.

Jamestown finished the 2022-23 season with a record of 27-7 while finishing runners-up in the GPAC postseason tournament and eventually bowing out of the NAIA national tournament in the Round of 16.
