The Mini Lumberjack hockey program, designed to give kids ages 5-9 a chance to experience skating and hockey for the first time, has extended its registration deadline to August 10 for four practices that will be Sundays starting September 20.

The Minnesota State High School League’s Board of Directors approved motions to allow for the return of cross country, girls swimming & diving, girls tennis, and soccer this fall, while announcing the move of football and volleyball to a new “4th season” in the spring due to coronavirus concerns at their meeting this morning.

The 96th edition of The Birchmont concluded with familiar names still standing as the championship flight winners, but only after a series of riveting finishes on Saturday at the Bemidji Town & Country Club.

It took several more thrilling finishes on Friday to confirm the final day’s matches for the 96th Birchmont at the Bemidji Town & Country Club.

Day two of match play at The Birchmont provided more surprises on Thursday at the Bemidji Town & Country Club, as several newer names advanced further in the championship brackets alongside many familiar ones.
