Beavers Prepping For WCHA Semifinals; Baseball, Softball & Golf Enjoy Sunny Climes

The Bemidji State Men’s Hockey Team is moving on to the WCHA Semifinals and the rest of the active Bemidji State teams are taking advantage of spring break with warm weather trips.

The Beavers won their WCHA opening round series over Lake Superior State 2 games to 1. That one loss knicked them a bit in the rankings. Bemidji dropped from #10 to #11 in the poll, and went from #10 to #12 in the pairwise rankings.

Bemidji State hosts #3 Bowling Green in a best of three WCHA Semifinal series at Sanford Center Friday, Saturday and Sunday if necessary. The Beavers are 22-10-5 on the year.


Spring Trip in Tuscon, AZ…
SW MN State 16, Bemidji State 9
Noah Boser went 4 for 4 with a double and 2 triples. He drove in 1 and score twice. Sam Kalberer went 2 for 5 and drove in 2, while Isaiah Grancorvitz doubled and drove in a run. Matt Kummett went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 runs. Wyatt White and Parker Borg each went 2 for 5, with Borg driving in 2.

The Beavers are 2-9 and will take the day off before wrapping up the trip Wednesday with a game against Valley City State.

Spring Trip in Florida…
Lewis 5, Bemidji State 4 (9 innings)
Elaina Christensen tripled and scored a run, while Lisa Kossan went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Olivia Tucker went 2 for 4 with a double, homer and 3 RBI.

Bemidji State 3, Ashland 2
Stephi Dullum doubled, while Elaina Christensen, Lisa Kossan and Sami Dullum all singled and drove in a run.

The Beavers are 8-6 and will face Concord and Missouri-St. Louis today.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Invite…
The Bemidji State Beavers sit second out of 10 teams after two rounds. Bemidji is just two strokes behind Roosevelt University. Individually, Gus Vatensdal of the Beavers sits third behind Connor Scissons and Matt Jackson, both of Arizona Christian University. Vatensdal shot a 76-71, putting him at 147 headed into Wednesday’s final round.

Spring Invite hosted by SMSU at Litchfield Park, AZ…
Bemidji State sits 6th out of 7 teams after the first round. The Beavers shot a combined 338, 37 strokes off the pace. The Beavers Jocelyn Nyblom sits 4th with an 84.
