Driscoll Named WCHA Stopper Of The Week Again & Beavers Move Up In The Polls

Zach Driscoll was named WCHA Goaltender of the Week for the second time this year and fifth time in his career after his and the Beavers 2-0-0 weekend against Bowling Green. Driscoll was 56 of 59 in goal for a 1.5 goals against average and a .949 save percentage. For the year, his GAA is 1.62 and is eighth in the nation. He’s sixth in the nation with a .941 save percentage.

The Beavers are now 16-8-4 on the year, with a WCHA record of 16-4-2-1 for 51 points and remain in second place, five points behind Minnesota State and seven ahead of third place Northern Michigan. Bemidji State moved up a spot to #18 in this week’s poll. North Dakota remained the #1 team in the nation, earning 49 of the 50 first place votes.

The Beavers will get this weekend off and then head to Marquett to face Northern Michigan Valentine’s weekend. The Wildcats, meanwhile will be at Mankato this weekend. Bemidji State will then head to Anchorage before wrapping up the regular season with Minnesota State at Sanford Center.
