Joe Ohman & Sam Larsen, co-workers at Northland Tackle, were the first Bass Champions at the First Ever Lueken’s Village Foods United Way Fishing Tournament. The two combined for 102.25 inches of Bass. They finished a half inch better than Robert Hagen & Hunter Jones, and that half inch was worth $1,827…the difference between the $1,173 Second Prize and $3,000 championship purse.
Ohman & Larson fish together in the Northwoods Bait & Tackle League, so are used to working together and used to using apps in tournaments. They joined Kev Jackson to discuss the techniques they used to catch those bass, and though they wouldn’t divulge exactly where they fished, they did admit to fishing many small, backwoods lakes.
On Thursday, we’ll hear from the Walleye Champions, Bryan Martinka and Dan Fuller, but today, to shamelessly borrow from Meghan Trainor, It’s All About The Bass.
