Bemidji resident Charlotte Rauch works in town at Ace on the Lake and is known in local circles for her excellent lefse. She is also the sister of Ray Clay, the public address announcer for the NBA’s Chicago Bulls during their six-championship dynasty of the 1990s.
In light of the recent ESPN documentary The Last Dance, which highlighted the Bulls’ triumphs and Michael Jordan’s rise to stardom, Rauch visited with High Noon to talk about her brother’s role in creating the arena’s atmosphere amidst the Bulls’ dynasty. She also shared about visits to watch the team play, watching Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in person, how she came to Bemidji from her upbringing in Illinois, and what her brother is currently up to.
