Bemidji boys tennis capped off a sterling week with a Section 8AA individual singles title for senior Filippo Buffo on Thursday. Buffo topped Becker’s Zach Bengtson 6-2, 6-3 in the championship following a 6-1, 6-0 win against Becker’s Troy Nuest in the quarterfinals and a 6-3, 6-2 semifinal victory over Brainerd’s Matthew Moraghan.
Noah Johnson’s run in the singles tourney ended with a 7-6, 6-4 opening round loss to St. Cloud Tech’s Emilio Estevez. In the doubles competition, Michael Dickinson and Logan Jensen were defeated in the semifinals before bouncing back to take third place with a victory against Beck Barber and RJ Campbell of Brainerd.
