The 2020 Section 8AA cross country championships are coming to Bemidji’s Greenwood Golf Course this week, with the boys meet being held in four sessions on Thursday and the girls meet also taking place across four sessions on Friday. Bemidji head coach Ryan Aylesworth reflected on the season and provided details for the meet Wednesday on High Noon.
The Bemidji boys have won all six triangular meets they have competed in this fall, and they will run with Alexandria, St. Cloud Apollo, and Sartell-St. Stephen in the 1pm session on Thursday.
Friday’s girls meet will feature Bemidji running in the final session of the afternoon at 5pm with Fergus Falls, Becker, and St. Cloud Apollo.
The four sessions each day will include a maximum of four teams running together, who have been grouped based on regular season times and performances. The first session on both days will begin at 11am, with further races at 1pm, 3pm, and 5pm.
Fans of each school have been asked to arrive no earlier than one hour before the race involving their school. A designated spectator area has been permitted for viewing of the race.
Timing and race results for each session from both meets will be kept through Hero’s Timing online.
