The Lumberjacks quickly raced out to a 18-3 advantage against BGMR thanks to a forfeit and two pins, the latter which came after 1:58 from Seth Sisneros at 126 lbs.
Wrestling up at 138, Coy Olsen provided another pin in the middle weights for the Jacks with his victory against Danyn Janousek.
Thade Osborn’s 9-1 major decision at 145 was followed by a technical fall provided by Darren Roth at 152 lbs to increase the lead to 33-7.
After two more forfeit victories, the Lumberjacks rolled up victories from Barrick Nelson (10-0 MD at 182), Colton Hinrichs (8-1 dec. at 195), and Jared Frenzel (9-3 dec. at 220) to complete the scoring in the large team win.
Bemidji opened its second match with Frazee with back-to-back pins in rapid fashion, as both Brody Castonguay at 106 and Gavin Osborn at 113 were winners in less than 45 seconds.
Frazee knotted the match at 15 with a decision and two falls from 126 through 138, but the Lumberjacks seized control by winning the next four matches–capped by a pin from Hoyt Solum at 170 lbs to lead 32-15.
Seniors Colton Hinrichs at 195 and Caleb Bahr at 285 ensured the Lumberjacks would tack on two more pins to the final overall total in the 44-25 victory.
With two more wins on Tuesday, the Lumberjacks have equalled a program-best 27 wins for a single season, as they now sit at 27-2 going into next week’s Section 8AAA team tournament. The Lumberjacks await word on their seed as they seek a third-straight Section championship.
