All six Lumberjack Fall sports teams were in action yesterday and all but the Cross Country teams were facing Sartell-St. Stephen. The Boys & Girls Soccer teams were both shut out, while the Girls Tennis Team cruised and the Girls Swimmers fell on the road. The Cross Country Boys won again and the Girls were runners up in St. Cloud.
LUMBERJACK BOYS SOCCER
The Bemidji Boys Soccer team lost their third 1-0 game of the year to the Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres at Chet Anderson Stadium last night. A full recap with highlights is available HERE from Joel Hoover.
LUMBERJACK GIRLS TENNIS
The Jacks are 9-1 after a dominating 7-0 win at Sartell-St. Stephen Tuesday night. Savannah Haugen (6-0, 6-0), Emily Dondelinger (6-0, 6-0), Tatum Offerdahl (6-1, 6-0), and Darby Neis (6-1, 6-2) all won their singles matches and the three doubles tandems also cruised. Lexi Leitner and Nettie Kimble won their match 6-4, 6-4; Chloe Hasbargan and Paige Anderson won 6-1, 6-2; and Margie Anderson and Mollie Rupp won 6-1, 6-2.
The Jacks were scheduled to battle Brainerd in the #1 v #2 matchup of the Central Lakes Conference Invite Thursday. But Brainerd’s Covid-19 situation shut down their activities for the time being and that match won’t happen. Section tournament details should be available soon.
LUMBERJACK GIRLS SOCCER
Sartell-St. Stephen scored a goal in each half and beat the Lumberjack Girls Soccer team 2-0 in Sartell Tuesday. The Jacks actually outshot the Sabres 8-7, but couldn’t get any past the goalkeeper. With the loss, Bemidji falls to 4-3-2, while the Sabres are 7-2. Bemidji will host Rocori Thursday night at Chet Anderson Stadium. LUMBERJACK GIRLS SWIMMING
The Jacks lost another dual, this time to Sartell-St. Stephen by a 111-64 score, but Mady Schmidt won another diving title. She’s perfect for the season. The Jacks also got their best performances of the year from the 200 Free and 400 Free Relay teams, with both taking first. The 200 crew included Nicki Son, Miranda Port, Riley McCarthy and Kayleigh Hickman, while Son, Port, McCarthy and Elena Harmsen were on the 400 squad. Also winning for the Jacks was Ava Lietz in the 100 Breaststroke. The Jacks will be back home Thursday night to host Rocori.
LUMBERJACK BOYS & GIRLS CROSS
The Bemidji Boys Cross Country team remained perfect for the year, winning their sixth straight race at the St. Cloud Tech Triangular. The Jacks were led by Nathan Alto and Nicholas Youso, who took #1 and #2 in the race. Ethan Maish was 5th and the Jacks claimed 8 of the top 11 spots.
For the Lumberjack girls, Mia Hoffman took 4th to lead the Lumberjacks 2nd place showing.
Bemidji will wrap up the season at the Alexandria Triangular, and will be a host site for the upcoming Section 8AA meet at Greenwood.
