Lumberjacks Wrestlers Roll Thursday; Host Rick Lee Duals Friday & Saturday…All The Action On The Lumberjack Radio Network

The 16th ranked Lumberjack wrestlers kept rolling Thursday night with a sweep of Sartell-St. Stephen and Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton at the Bemidji High School Fieldhouse. Bemidji looks to keep it going when they host the 16 team Rick Lee Duals Friday and Saturday, and you’ll hear all the action on the Lumberjack Radio Network.

Bemidji 45, Sartell-St. Stephen 19
The Jacks earned six pins in their 13th win of the year. It started at 106 with Brody Castonguay. Darren Roth got a pin at 152, while Colton Hinrichs earned a pin 64 seconds in. Justin Nelson did the same at 182. Caleb Bahr earned a pin 1:23 in at 220, and Chase Smith got a pin at the 1:13 mark at 285 pounds. At 132, Joe Hudson got a 15-7 win, while Thade Osborn earned a 5-0 decision at 145. At 160, Aidan Helwig was a 6-2 winner.

Bemidji 65, DGF 6
The Jacks rolled to 13 wins out of the 14 matches, including seven pins. Brody Castonguay once again got the ball rolling with a pin at 106 pounds. At 113, JD Kondos followed up with a pin 25 seconds in. Coy Olson had a 9-1 Major Decision at 120, and at 126, Seth Sisneros earned 41 second pin. At 132, Joe Hudson pinned his opponent 1:38 into the match and Dane Jorgenson had a pin at 145 pounds. At 152, Darren Roth got a forfeit win, followed by Colton Hinrichs 3-1 win at 160. At 170, Clay Olson earned an 8-0 Major Decision and at 182, Justin Nelson got a two minute pin. Caleb Bahr got a 5-4 win at 220 and Bemidji capped it with Chase Smith’s pin at 285 pounds.

The Lumberjacks are now 14-2 headed into the big two day Rick Lee Duals. 16 teams are in town, with 11 of them ranked, including the #1 team in Class A (and defending state champions) Long Prairie-Grey Eagle. Others are Perham (#5AA), Frazee (#6A), Badger Greenbush Middle River (#7A), Detroit Lakes (#8AA), Tracy-Milroy-Balaton-Westbrook-Walnut Grove (#11A), Thief River Falls (#11AA), Ottertail Central (#16A), Bemidji (#16AAA), Waconia (#18AAA), United North Central (#20A).

They are divided in pools of four for today’s opening round, then regrouped by results for Saturday. The Jacks will wrestle at 9:30am, 11:30am and 3:30pm on Friday, and will have three more matches Saturday. You’ll hear all Lumberjack matches on The Lumberjack Radio Network. Today’s matches will be on KBUN Plus: AM1450/fm94.9 and streaming at kbunsportsradio.com on KBUN 2. Saturday’s opening match will be on The BUN SportsRadio 104.5 and streaming on KBUN 1.
