Monday, March 1. That’s the day a number of lakes in Paul Bunyan Country get new Bluegill and sunfish regulations. In the Brainerd area, crappies are involved as well. This is all part of the DNR’s Quality Panfish Initiative. It’s also the day you need to get your new license and you have to stop fishing for Walleyes until May 15.
On this week’s edition of PBCO, Kev Jackson hears from Acting Bemidji Area Fisheries Supervisor Andy Thompson and Brainerd Area Fisheries Supervisor Marc Bacigalupi on the Paul Bunyan Country lakes

that will be affected by the new panfish regs.
In addition, we revisit the Bemidji State University Wildlife Biology program. Dr. Jake Haus joins the show to discuss the program and a couple of initiatives he and students are involved with.
Enjoy the show!
