Bemidji State men’s hockey’s second game with Minnesota State scheduled for this afternoon at the Sanford Center has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests within Mankato’s program, according to releases from the WCHA and schools this morning.
The tests had been administered among hockey personnel of the Mavericks ahead of today’s series finale that was scheduled for 3:07pm. After no positive tests prior to Sunday’s 5-0 victory for Minnesota State, “positive results” were announced for the most recent round of testing and confirmed an indefinite postponement of today’s game.
Bemidji State and Minnesota State are scheduled to play a series in Mankato this coming Friday and Saturday, but the status of those games is now in question due to the presence of the positive cases for the Mavericks and their proximity to the Beavers during this past weekend. According to the release, the playing of those games is “pending outcomes related to full contact tracing and guidance from MDH”.
