Both the Lumberjack Boys and Girls Hockey Teams were beaten by the Warroad Warriors last night.
In the Boys game, The Jacks were outshot 35-11 by the Warriors, but had a 2-1 lead going into the 3rd. After a scoreless first, the Jacks scored on 2 of their 3 shots in the 2nd. Wylee Gladen scored the first goal of the game, and after the Warriors tied it up, Hunter Marcotte scored for the Jacks to make it 2-1. The Warriors tied it up in the 3rd, and then scored 2 goals in a 27 second span of the 3rd. Carson Kelm was 31 of 35 in goal for the Jacks.
Bemidji is now 0-2-0 to start the season and they’ll have another tough one Tuesday when they host Moorhead at the BCA. That will be an early start with puck drop at 6pm. We’ll have it on the LRN beginning with LJ Live at 5:45 on The BUN SportsRadio 104.5 and online at kbunsportsradio.com.
Meanwhile, at the BCA, it was a tough night at the rink for the Bemidji Girls, as they were outshot 35-7 by the Warriors. Warroad grabbed a 2-0 lead after 1, then added another 3 in the 2nd and 2 more in the 3rd.
